Happy Halloween

The day is finally here - and what a way to start your morning when the alarm goes off and what song is playing on the radio: THRILLER by Michael Jackson...it feels like we have been in and out of costumes and celebrating Halloween for like EVER now.  Friday, Maddy had her Costume Party at Daycare...Saturday, our little town had their Halloween Parade followed by costume judging and today - Maddy had another Halloween party at daycare but opted for just wearing her Halloween themed tutu.

I wish I had pictures to show you what my Maddy is going to be, but I'll try tonight seeing how Hubby has captured the camera because it's hunting season and LORD LOVE US ALL that he catches a deer and doesn't have a camera to capture the moment (I even asked him to keep it at home today and IF they got a deer, he could come back and use it and apparently HE NEEDS to take a picture at the location - who knew).

Tonight - Maddy and I will be trick or treating solo.  I am not one to go door to door - this year we are starting out in the outskirts of town - hitting up my hairdresser (who has hot chocolate, caramel apples and good bags), my brother (who said he doesn't have treats but could give her a can of Pepsi and some carrots...lovely - thanks Adam), then we'll make our way into town where we really only hit up about 5 houses and the seniors residence.

Like I said, I don't have a picture of what Maddy is (just yet) but this is her costume...she is a BERRY CUTE STRAWBERRY:

Wishing everyone a safe and candy filled night!

What are your kiddies dressing up as?

It's Confession Time

Linking up with the great Mamarazzi this morning for Friday Confessional!

Before I confess, I realized that all week, I meant to write a blog or at least mention this but kept forgetting - our buddy Tyler - who has a rare form of leukemia and has been in Toronto since September - underwent a bone marrow transplant and was expected to stay there for 3 months - is COMING HOME VERY SOON!  On Sunday, we got the text and phone calls that Tyler grafted at 100% which means that the bone marrow worked - he was released from his "bubble" and was feeling good!  They hope to be back home probably next week at the latest.  Although this battle isn't over yet, he still has a long haul, this is GREAT NEWS!  Happy Friday...now on to my confessions:
I confess...that I was not impressed to see frost (and lots of it) on my car this morning.

I confess...that despite how much I HATE WINTER, I want it to come - just so that the roadwork and detours on our highway are stopped!

I confess...I am a loser and glad that my "appliance man" was a friend and he didn't laugh at me when he came to look at my "broken" washer only to find the problem was ME - the Operator...apparently for 6 years, I used the wrong cycle...who knew??

I confess...that I breathed a sigh of relief when it was my fault and that didn't mean that we had to go and buy a new washer.

I confess...this morning I wanted to stay in bed - Hubby is off now for 2 weeks and it just sucks having to get up alone and do the morning routine by myself while he sleeps in (he says today is really his only day to sleep in then it's out hunting - starting tomorrow)

I confess...that I thought we had to change our clocks back this weekend - but we have an extra week!

I confess...that I am excited to take Maddy to see My Little Pony tomorrow - but will probably regret it later in the day when I am tired from standing and running around!

What are your confessions??

Random Thoughts...

It is starting to get really cold out in the mornings...good thing Hubby bought me a pair of warm winter boots last night!

Maddy is having her costume party at Daycare today and then her Halloween party on Monday...one little girl doesn't celebrate any holidays, birthdays etc...so today's "costume party" is just a dress up day really - nothing Halloween related is tied into it.

My washer is on the bum and it really sucks...it sucks that we MAY have to buy one...it's not even that old...6 years maybe?

Today is my last day with travelling buddy (aka Hubby) for two weeks as he is off for the Great Deer Hunt!  I hate travelling alone...especially if there is ANY mention of snow in the forecast - LOL

Saturday morning, my sister and I are going to take Maddy to St.Laurent Shopping Centre in Ottawa to see a FREE show in the mall - My Little Pony with Special Guest Chuck the Dump Truck...I am sorta excited!

Another activity I thought about going to was right near my work at the Bank of Canada, in the Currency Museum - they are having Halloween festivities Saturday followed by a magic show.  More information about that can be found here.

I have to make a whole lotta cupcakes this weekend for a Halloween order...

I also have to make 20 lbs of potatoes for our Church's Annual Harvest Supper on Sunday.

My ring is really pissing me off this morning, I don't know if it's because my fingers are cold or something, but it keeps twisting and turning and is really loose this morning - arrgghh!!

What are your thoughts today??

We Want to Know Wednesday - All About Shopping

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesdays Q&A!
Hosted by MamarazziQueso and Crazymama

1. Do you shop til you drop, or are you in and out as quick as possible?
I don't think I have ever been someone that LIKES shopping and now with a 4 year old, I am definitely in and out as quick as possible!  I can do a full order of groceries in like 15 mins!

2. Are you a price conscious shopper?
This Mama is always looking for deals...I will, however, NOT go bouncing from store to store to save a measly 50 cents.  I do coupon though so that helps!

3. What store could you spend HOURS in?
Honestly - Walmart - because I can get everything in there, especially the Superstores...can get baby needs, shoes, clothes and even groceries!

4. What is the most frivolous purchase you have ever made?
I don't really know...I don't really spend my money on anything but stuff for Maddy - clothes, treats etc...and I wouldn't call it frivolous - it's always stuff we need!

5. What was the last thing you bought for yourself?
HA! HA! HA! Good question...I hate buying things for myself - when I go into a store, Maddy always comes out with something.  Last thing I bought myself...well on Saturday I went to a big box store and bought myself a massive box of Sesame Snaps...does that count?? LOL

2 Months Till Christmas...

I haven't even started to shop for Christmas yet...not that it's any surprise, cuz I never do it early.  Last year I think I started in November and was quite happy with myself.  The reason I don't like starting early is:
1) I usually end up buying more
2) I forget about stuff I bought
3) I have a tendency of wanting to give Maddy things ahead of time

This year I am finding it rather difficult for Maddy.  She will be 5 in February and she has way too many toys (that she hardly even touches).  With the new baby coming, I have ZERO room for anymore toys.

I am thinking this year will be a lot of smaller things - things that she enjoys - board games, learning games, craft supplies, coloring stuff etc...she loves that sorta stuff.

Maddy has never gotten into anything - anything, I mean, I see little girls who are all into Lalaloopsy, but Maddy has never even heard of these.  She didn't go all "gaga" over the Princess stage (although she requests that this year is the year for a Princess Birthday Party)...she likes to dress up a bit but really, she only has one outfit and it comes out out once in a blue moon.

So what is she into?  Well on a day to day basis, she does enjoy her Handy Manny - and on the weekend she saw these Teacup Piggies that she has also requested!

The big thing on her list this year however is:

Yep - that is an IPAD.  My 4 year old wants an IPAD and the funny thing is, she actually knows how to use to use and loves playing with it when her Uncle Butter takes time to let her play his!

The one thing that is exciting me about Christmas this year is the Elf on the Shelf that she received as a gift last year from Lindsay.  This will be the first full year with it out and I am thinking of bringing him out early!  Maddy has been testing our nerves lately (mildly speaking) and Daddy has already placed one call to the Big Red Lad, so I think the Elf should come out soon, maybe she'll think we mean business!

He's sorta scary looking??
What is on your wish list this Christmas?

Weekend Recap...and 2 NEW Recipes!

Before I give you my recap, I saw and partially watched my first HOLIDAY movie last night on TV.  I can't remember what it was called...but it was on the Womens Network I believe - last night at 9:00 pm with Jesse from Full House...three men tried to seduce and marry rich women before the holidays...anyways, I was excited cuz I love holiday movies!

Friday night we had crafts with the ladies.  We all gathered at Lindsay's and made Wilemina the Witch.  I am sure Lindsay will post the craft this week sometime!  I brought munchies and were they a hit - here is the recipe:

Nacho Pinwheels
courtesy of Pillsbury website
  • 1 can of Pillsbury crescent rolls or Pillsbury Crescent Recipe Creations refrigerated seamless dough sheet
  • 1 package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of Old El Paso Taco Seasoning (although, I used the Pampered Chef taco seasoning cuz it's less sodium and that's all I had)
  • 1/3 cup of finely shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup of Green Giant Mexicorn whole kernel corn with red and green peppers, drained (I did not use this)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion (again, did not use)
  • Salsa for dipping

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F - spray cookie sheet with cooking spray
  2. If using crescent rolls: Unroll dough; seperate dough into 4 rectangles.  Firmly press perforations to seal.
  3. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough and cut into 4 rectangles
  4. In small bowl, mix cream cheese and taco seasoning mix.  Stir in cheese, corn and onions.
  5. Spread 2 tablespoons cream cheese mixture over each rectangle to within 1/4 inch of edges.
  6. Starting with one short side, roll up each rectangle, press edge to seal.  With serrarated knife, cut each roll into 6 slices.  Place cut side down on cookie sheet.
  7. Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until edges are golden brown.  Serve warm with salsa!

Saturday morning - Josee, Maddy and I headed into the city to get the rest of my ingredients at the big bulk store to get started on my jars for the Christmas Craft Sale.  We had brunch at Cora's and headed home.  Hubby was in a hockey tournament all day, so Maddy and I lounged at home then went out for Chinese with my parents.

Sunday was a really bad day at our household...Maddy was wild!  She was bad Saturday also but Sunday I had had enough.  She lost her TV, her movies, her DS and almost her toys.  She almost spent the WHOLE DAY in her room but finally after tantrums and more tantrums - she eventually fell asleep and woke up a bit better.  I was trying to decide what to have for supper and decided to search the good ole Internet.  I found this recipe for homemade Sloppy Joe's and I have to say, they were quite yummy - much better than the canned Manwich stuff!  Here is that recipe:

Sloppy Joes
  • 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 pound of hamburger meat
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1 cup of tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup of ketchup
  • 1/4 cup of water

Directions:
  1. Heat the oil in a skillet on medium high heat.  Add the onion and cook until tender.  Add garlic and chili powder and sauté for 30 seconds.
  2. Add the beef, salt, pepper and brown sugar.  Cook and stir until beef is no longer pink.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup and water.  Cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the sayce is thickened slightly.
  4. Serve on hambuger buns (I put a slice of cheese on the bottom half and pop them in the oven to toast them beforehand).

Hope you all had a great weekend!

In My Younger Days...

I thought this was pretty neat to do - feel free to join in and do so too.  It's a great way to remember the days before responsibilities!

In my younger days...my favorite morning TV show was: Bobby's World...haha it used to be on at 7:30 am while we were eating breakfast and getting ready for school - don't ya know Bobby!!

In my younger days...my favorite after-school TV show was: It would be a toss up between Blossom and Saved by the Bell (this was what originally got me thinking of this little quiz...I saw an obituary today, his last name was Screech)

In my younger days...you would find me blasting the ghetto blaster to: Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now...New Kids on the Block...my Lilith Fair days of Sarah MacLachlan...

In my younger days...my first job was: Working at a chip wagon called The Big Potatoe followed by an animator at daycamp (but still did the chipwagon on weekends)

What did I wear the first day of high school? I remember it...I remember wearing a brown cord jumper dress (and another girl wearing the exact same thing)

What do you remember about the first day of High School?  Before even getting to the new (BIG) school - Me, Hollie and Meagan sat in the front seat of the bus (yep, all three of us crammed in one seat) with matching school bags (yep...which we kept on our backs the whole 30 minute ride)

Where was your favorite hang out? I don't think we really had hang outs - maybe at Hollie's house - we were always there!

Who was my favorite Elementary School teacher? Miss Curtain I think...I had her I think in Grade 3 when our class was split between her and Mr. Chantrel (sp??)...why I liked her though - every holiday, we had a day of fun which was awesome!!

Who was my favorite High School teacher? I don't really know...I liked Mr. Polson

What was my favorite High School subject? Drama maybe...just because it was something I considered myself good at...I did win Best Actress one year and Best Supporting Actress the year before!

What do you regret about high school that you wish you could go back and re-do?  I think everyone has the same wish - to go back and be a better person.  Our group stayed together, the early years of high school we hung out at the Library (woo hoo - geeks) and eventually we moved to the gym where we people watched.  We never went out of our group though and really didn't meet new people...I think it's safe to say that now, 11 years later, we talk to more of our high school buddies than we did then!

What do you miss about Elementary School?  I honestly don't remember much about elementary...but I do miss the lessons and stuff - everything was just funner when learning how to count with Cheerios!

What do you miss about High School?  That is easy...those yummy warm, chocolate chip cookies in the mornings with chocolate milk!  Yum!!  Everytime I go down to our cafeteria at my work, I smell something like that and it makes me want them!!

Hope you enjoyed this!

Friday Confessional

I am linking up with Mamarazzi on her Friday Confessional this week....

I confess...that I am looking forward to the next couple of weekends.  Escape Day and Christmas Craft Sale especially!

I confess...that I have a small addiction to sour candy (or any candy really) during this pregnancy - poor Tanner may be a hyper baby!

I confess...that I can't get enough of Bubble Island on Facebook.  I literally could spend all day on playing, especially right now when I can't get passed a certain level.

I confess...I am really anxious to try a new recipe I am whipping up tonight for Craft Night!

I confess...that I bought the Choo Choo Soul Train CD for Maddy, but really it was for me...and when I told her I bought it for her, she wasn't too excited (but I was stoked).

I confess...that my house has been taking a beating since I have been pregnant.  It doesn't seem to be as clean as I like it to be...oh well!

I confess...that I am happy that it's finally Friday - what a long week this has been!

Maddy Moment - I Miss My Daddy

For the last couple of weeks, anytime Hubby leaves the house, Maddy goes into a screaming/crying fit.  As much as I think it's cute, it's getting old.  Why?  She's allowed to miss her Daddy - I realize that but when he is at home, she is always telling him "I don't love you Daddy" - "I only love Mommy" and generally she is just doing this to get him mad most of the time!  We know she's joking and that she doesn't really mean it but when she pulls this screaming/crying fit anytime he leaves the house - we can't help but laugh!

Is this an attention thing?  It's not just Daddy either.  We have noticed (especially when she is tired) - she will say she misses anyone.  When putting her to bed, she will say "I miss Mama, I love Mama" - "I didn't kiss Sophie" etc...

Last night as Hubby left the house to go to hockey, of course, this happened again.  She was upstairs, we were getting ready for the bedtime routine and I told her to go down and give Daddy a kiss because he was leaving.  She practically flew down the stairs (thinking he was already gone) screaming and crying "Daddy - don't go - I going to miss you!"  It got me thinking though...I wonder if she does this when I leave the house?  Then I laughed out loud...why?  Because anytime I leave the house, 99% of the time, she's in tow!  There ya have it!  There was my answer!

We Want To Know Wednesday

Let's hope that this week, you can see ALL MY entry!

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesdays Q&A!
Hosted by MamarazziQueso and Crazymama

{1} When was the last time you lost your temper?
I think I lose it at least once a day in some way with Maddy (or Hubby) especially these days when emotions are all over the place!

{2} What 3 words best describe you?
Fun, Loving and Organized?  Yea - I know - LAME-O

{3} What movie could you watch over and over again and never get tired of?
I would have to say a good 80's favorite - Adventures in Babysitting, no matter how many times I watch it, I never get sick of it.  For the upcoming holiday season - I can watch Christmas Shoes over and over again also.

{4} If you could do something dangerous, just once, with no risk, what would you do?
Well I think I would bungee jump - I thought about seriously doing it once upon a time, but now - not so much.  A close second would be...driving a race car perhaps??

{5} Which is more important intelligence or common sense?
Uumm...this one is a difficult one.  I think it's more important to have common sense.  I mean you can be intelligent but still stupid at things.  I think everyone should have SOME common sense when it comes to things!

What Would You Do If You Won The Lottery...

The reason I am asking myself this today is because...over the weekend, Hubby's lottery group at work came VERY close to winning big.  They got 5 out of 6 numbers and only won $2000 (which between everyone is $215) but it could have been almost $17,000 each!  How nice would that have been?  It makes me wonder...what would I do if I won the lottery:

First things first, I think I may pass out...not sure how I would actually react.  I couldn't keep it to myself because I have NO IDEA how to check the numbers, so the ringing bells at the local corner store would give it away for sure!

How I would spend the money really depends on how much?

$215 dollars that was won - it's going to be put towards car repairs that are getting done today!

$100,000 - well that would be a nice down on a house and pay off little loans and bills we have.

Anything larger - first I would pay everything off that we own...maybe spread some around to the family...cuz really if I won anything more than a million dollars, I honestly don't know what I would do with it all!

I would buy build a nice big house the way WE WANT IT:

I would buy myself my Nissan Rogue (no fancy cars for this mama):

I would take the family on a trip somewhere hot:

I would quit working (at least for a bit):

I would pay off all remaining debt we have:

I would put some away in savings to accumulate so that I may never have to go back to work and save for kids education:

What would you do with...let's say a million dollars??

Weekend Recap

This weekend was...exhausting...but fun!

Friday night we rushed home, dropped Maddy off at Mama's and headed across the river to Montana's Cookhouse in Kanata for supper with friends.  It was quite the ordeal.  Reservations were at 6:00pm and by the time we got out of the parking lot, it was a little after 9:00 pm.  Things did not go so well!  Why?  Because they put a poor NEW waitress at our table of 12 and she also had a group behind us.  It MAY have been her first night...so she was all over the place.  The ordering and meal itself was okay...it was the organization of the bills that was complete chaos afterwards...so after having another waitress help and 2 managers, we finally were able to leave with restaurant and as an added bonus, we get a free appetizer next time!!

Saturday morning was CAR RALLY DAY!  If you don't know what that is...it's the greatest small town community event we have.  Our group has been the same for the last few years and it proved again this year - that we can never replace it!  Our start off time was at 11:05 am.  This year's theme was MUSIC but we didn't dress up or even decorate our car.  You get a sheet of questions and you hop in your car, tour the back roads finding clues and answers.  I think the group that organized it this year did an AMAZING job.  It was a great theme to have cuz we were always singing and thinking of lyrics to answer questions.  Sara B rocked it - she could look at the lyrics printed on the paper, sing the tune and away we go!  We got back to the hall sometime after 4:00 pm (everyone has to be back by 6:00 pm).  We sat down, checked our answers against the other teams, had supper and waited anxiously for the organizers to announce the answers.  We were feeling pretty good about our answers (like we always do) but after hearing some other people's answers, we thought ok...maybe we aren't going to finish second but we will be in the Top 10.  They started calling off the car numbers and what place they fell into.  We were up to the Top 10 and still not hearing our number...Top 5...still nothing.  We all began to sweat, I was biting my nails - because the rule is, if you come in first place, you have to be the team that prepares the route the next year...NO THANKS - too much work!  So then it was the third place team...and finally CAR #21 - Ricky and The Sunshine Gang were tied with 2 other teams with a score of 70 points.  The winning group with a total score of 72.  We were soooo close it was scary.  One of the bonus questions were to remember what shirts the 5 girls were wearing, we could only remember 4 but had we remembered the fifth, we COULD have won...scary!  Anyways, as always it was a good time.  I spent most of the time in the truck cuz it was a blustery, cold day and I had to pee so often but it was a good day!
Sunday - Maddy and I went to Church.  She helped the greeter give out the bulletins, she sat with Nancy (Hi Nancy!), she sang with Aunt Sue and admired Baby Molly.  It was my week to prepare the Sunday School lesson and that went well.  We came home and TRIED to nap but Miss Maddy had other ideas...so we got up, made some homemade ooey, gooey brownies, chocolate frosting and Maddy sprinkled M&M's on the top!  It was a great day to spend indoors!

How was your weekend?

Thoughts on Thursday...

Today is a rainy, gloomy day which means it's the perfect day to STAY IN BED

I can't wait to go out with friends tomorrow to celebrate September and October Birthdays!

I also can't wait for Saturday morning when we hit the roads and participate in the annual Car Rally - I just hope it's not rainy and cold!

Yesterday, my stupid blog post was messed up so no one really got to see my answers for WWTK - oh well!

Tonight I am going to be getting some things ready to decorate our car with on Saturday.

Also preparing Sunday School lesson.

Yesterday, Gatineau Police arrested the 19 year old lad from the Pontiac (Korey Perry from Luskville) at his home and are charging him with manslaughter in that death of the good samaritan that was trying to stop him from stealing a pumpkin!  You can read the story here.

Today, there is a white bike set up where a tragic freak accident took place Tuesday morning near my work!  The woman was riding her bike when a parked car opened their door, causing her to hit it and go off balance, throwing her into the path of another car and getting ran over - she has since died- so tragic and sad!

I am looking forward to November 5th when we will be having our Escape Day - a day of relaxation for us women - always a good time and once again, we are fully booked which is awesome!

Baby Tanner has enough outfits to last him ONE WEEK - haha!  Auntie Cindy came home from the States and of course, bought him some outfits!

What are your thoughts today??

Turkey Weekend

One more day of sleep would have been nice....LOL

Friday evening Maddy was suppose to have a sleepover at her Aunt's so Hubby and I had a nice supper sans Maddy at St-Huberts then we were on our way home when she called us and wanted to come home...so we turned around and went and got her.  When we got home, Maddy and I made some desserts for the weekend and Hubby had a "date" with my 90 year old grandmother playing cards.

Saturday - we headed to Hubby's sister's place to have our Thanksgiving Dinner.  I took Maddy and my neice to Michaels in the afternoon to paint a pumpkin and then did some shopping.  We went into the Children's Place and bought Baby Tanner a new outfit with matching hat!  It felt soooo weird going into a store and not going to the girl stuff...and I had a hard time finding baby boy clothes - they had lots of older outfits but not sleepers and the selection isn't quite as good as the girls stuff.
Saturday evening after dinner, we headed to Cobden for a Benefit Party they were holding for our buddy Tyler (who has leukemia and is currently in Toronto).  The place was FILLED and they definetly had a GREAT turnout.  They had local people playing music, brought in some kids that square danced, held a silent auction and then after that closed, a live auction!  Very good turnout!

Sunday we went to Church and then to my parent's for another Thanksgiving dinner.  I am not a fan of turkey so two days of dinner was enough for me.  Everyone was playing cards and I finally ducked out around 8:00 pm to go home and finish decorating a cake I was to have done for Monday - which I didn't get any pictures of - boo me!

Monday we did nothing but lounge in our jammies at home all day.  We did manage to clean out the baby's room and go through some of Maddy's clothes to see if I could salvage ANY sleepers etc...that weren't pink!  We managed to get 4 pairs of sleepers, some undershirts and lots of socks.  We even found some new receiving blankets not even opened and got all the hooded towels out.

How was your weekend??

IT'S A...

BOY!!!!

Yesterday we had our 20-week ultrasound and we were pretty excited about finding out the sex of the baby.  I had a feeling it was another girl and even had proof...from the Chinese Calculator!  This calendar thing is apparently NEVER WRONG...well where do I file a complaint because it was wrong...the technician told us we are having a boy!

Hubby was ecstatic, naturally!  He's the only boy in his family...he has 3 older sisters who have girls then we had Maddy so a boy was needed in this family.  I confess, I was a little upset about it being a boy because I know girls and I was really sure it was a girl...but I'm obviously happy regardless, as long as it's healthy right?

I tossed and turned all night thinking about Maddy's clothes and wondering in my head if I have ANYTHING that isn't pink and well...I think I can use some of her undershirts, that's about it because EVERYTHING was pink, even sleepers that were blue or aqua, have a big butterfly on it or something.  Oh well, I will start shopping and getting things.  I really only need clothes - we have all the big stuff and it's all unisex.

We have our name picked out - just waiting for a good middle name to click - this baby boy's name is going to be Tanner.

Maddy's reaction to the news of it being a boy - not such a good one.  When the technician announced that she thought it was a boy (there is a chance it COULD be a girl yet...because the umbilical cord is in the way but we saw one ball apparently...I can't really see much in the ultrasound images, I know, I suck) - anyways, when the technician gave the news, Maddy gave a BIG SIGH and said "OH NO...not a boy" and she is pretty much denying it to everyone.  When you ask her - she replies either nope, I'm having a sister or she will come out and tell you - I don't want a boy!  She has about 4 more months to accept the fact but I know regardless, she is going to be a great big sister.  She was teaching ME yesterday how to burp the baby using one of her dolls...geez, thanks Maddy (Pete from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse showed her how...tap tap on the bum, tap tap on the back - softly).

Anyways that is our news - we can't wait to welcome Tanner into our household and hopefully he won't have to wear pink (I am pretty sure there are some Pittsburgh Penguin outfits floating around that Maddy wore that will look much better on him anyways).

Maddy in her Pens outfit!

I don't know how cute Tanner would look in the Leafs outfit, but Uncle Butter would be proud!!

We Want To Know Wednesday

Welcome to We Want to Know Q&A Wednesday
Hosted by Mamarazzi and Alicia aka Queso

Queso is asking the questions this week and she want's to know...

{1} If you had an extra hour to do ANYTHING for yourself each day what would you do?

These days, I would love an extra hour to sleep - especially at 6:00 am when it's still dark out!  If I wasn't pregnant, I don't know what I want...maybe an hour to myself - no Maddy and no Hubby around and I could just do what I want!

{2} Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I am in bed no later than 9:00 pm so no I am not a night owl.  I am okay in the morning though, so I would say I am a morning person.  I am not overly cranky (no more than usual anyways) and I am always up fairly early!

{3} How much sleep do you get on an average night?
Undisturbed sleep - uummm, I don't get much!  If I am in bed by 9:00 pm which I am most nights, I could easily sleep almost 9 hours before I have to get up and get ready for work, but with Maddy's bed transition, we are up usually 3 - 4 times a night to tuck her back in...so then it takes me a bit to fall back asleep each time.

{4} When do you find the time to blog/surf the ol' interweb?
Anytime!  During the day mostly...I am not overly busy at work so I am continuously blogging, checking blogs, Facebook etc throughout the day.  I will periodically check it at home but never really sit there and surf, I guess being on it all day does that!

{5} What is the ONE thing you're never too busy for?
I am never too busy to spend time with family and friends cuz most of the time the reason we are busy is cuz we have plans with these people.  In the next upcoming weeks, it's busy!  We have Canadian Thanksgiving this coming weekend which we will be with both sides of the family, next weekend with friends for birthday suppers and Car Rally....

Maddy Moment...Naming a Baby

Last night we asked Maddy what she wanted to name the baby if it was a girl - this was her answer:

Me: "Maddy - what do you want name the baby - if it's a girl?"
Maddy: "Starwishes"
Me: chuckling "Really...that sounds like My Little Pony or something"
Maddy: "Nope, that's the new baby's name"

I told Ricky if it's a girl, it would sorta be cute to associate Maddy's "name" into the baby's middle name - a way to get her involved...so beware, if the baby is a girl, her name COULD be Maya Starr...sorta sounds cute doesn't it??  Add her last name (for those that know it) - I think it had a nice ring to it!

This Weekend...

...we stayed around home and relaxed for the most part

...I cleaned too much and went up and down the stairs and now my legs are killing me

...I tried to watch the movie Julie and Julia, but I couldn't stand Meryl Streep's voice and had to stop watching
...I made a Halloween wreath at craft night

...I went on a baking spree on Sunday and made banana bread (for Hubby), chocolate chip cookies (for Maddy) and oatmeal chocolate chip muffins (for Me)

...I decorated my mason jars for the Craft Sale (with Maddy's help)

...I went through Maddy's winter clothes and realizes the poor kid needs lots...especially long sleeved shirts

...We had communion at Church with all sorts of different bread - it was pretty neat
Lindsay made homemade pretzels...YUMM-O
...I started to clear out the baby's room by throwing out a lot of junk and re-organizing Maddy's toys

...Maddy and I took my Nanny and Uncle up to the hospital to visit my Papa who was transferred closer to home on Friday night.  He is doing great!

...Hubby was back at the camp all day (and night) cleaning and hanging out the guys

...I bought 20 2L bottles of Pepsi because they were on sale for $0.99 and Hubby and the gang go through a lot of it during the hunt (along with all their booze)

...I only had one nap...okay, I may have had a wee nap yesterday too!

...Was a productive one I think, even if I did stay home all weekend!  There is lots going on in the next upcoming weeks though!
